How to earn money as you write your book
Many people put off writing their book because they worry that it will give them less time to run and grow their business.
But I don’t believe that this should be an either/or scenario. And actually, I actively encourage people to use their book to attract and serve more of the right clients as they write it.
Henrie is one of my Smart Authors. She has been using the ‘Bob method’ alongside creating the structure for her book. The ‘Bob method’ is an interview framework that you can use to validate the information that you wish to share, to ensure that it is going to be of service to your readers.
She approached a number of people for an interview. These were mainly former clients and contacts in her niche market.
21 people said yes.
These interviews gave her the opportunity to find out what her ideal readers and clients want to get from her book and uncover the pertinent themes.
She has reconnected with former clients in a non salesy way, which has rekindled vital connections.
These conversations have also generated five pieces of work so far, totalling £5k in income.
This work wouldn’t have existed without her initial contact (and making the decision to write her book).
And who knows what other interest may come as she writes and publishes it!
She recently told me “It’s been super motivating. The financial thing is great but the lovely thing about it is the focus that it’s given me. I have a skeleton now that will enable my book to be easier to write”.
The ‘Bob method’ is one of seven self-funding methods that I teach in the Smart Author System, alongside giving you a proven framework to write your book quickly and easily. If you want to be like Henrie, then do join us.
The Smart Author System online training programme is where you can learn everything you need to write your book that enables you to self-validate and self-fund it as you write it. You can join the Self-study option or the Community version. The latter includes a Make It Happen day, Facebook community, expert interviews and additional support.
