About Karen Williams
Karen Williams is The Book Mentor, and she specialises in working with business owners, entrepreneurs and thought leaders who want to write and publish a book that they hope will build their business. They have a story to tell or a message to share.
She trained as a coach in 2006 and started Self Discovery Coaching. She then wrote her first book, The Secrets of Successful Coaches, in 2009 whilst undertaking her NLP Master Practitioner qualification. It was published in 2011 and it wasn't long before she realised the difference that writing a book can make to a business.
Karen later went on to write four more books - How to Stand Out in your Business, The Mouse That Roars, Your Book is the Hook, and Book Marketing Made Simple - many of which have become bestsellers.
The book mentoring side of her business started to evolve when many of her clients asked for her help with their books. She rebranded as Librotas in 2015, and predominantly works with coaches, consultants, trainers and therapists who are writing a business book, self-help guide or memoir. These clients are ultimately writing a book that they hope will build their credibility, attract more clients, and make a bigger difference in the world.
In January 2017, she launched Librotas Books, the publishing arm of Librotas and now provides a one-stop shop for business authors. She has a great team who help clients go from idea to publication, including planning, writing accountability, managing time and their inner critic, editing and proofreading, design, publishing in both print and eBook, and book launch, marketing and PR support.
Ultimately she wants to ensure that clients craft a book that reflects their brand and helps them to grow their business.
Clients are supported through one-to-one mentoring and her favourite writing retreats in the UK and Spain, alongside other live events and online programmes.
If that's not enough, she loves to speak, regularly features in the media, and occasionally does crazy things like doing jumping out of a plane and walking on hot coals.
She also won the Maximise Creative Business of the Year Award in December 2017.
