The 100 things game – part 1

Although I’m a fan of planning, I’m a keener advocate of getting things done.  You can scheme and strategise forever, but unless you take action you’ll never move forward.

But I do know that unless you know what you want, how are you going to measure your success?

That’s why today, I’d like to share with you a strategy that I invite you to complete over the coming week. This is the 100 things game.

Last week I went to the pre-launch gathering of a new group in Chichester, part of Global Winning Women networking. As well as a great chance to connect with some lovely ladies, the host, Claire Evison, set us a task to develop our 100 things list for 2015. This is quite simply a list of items that you want to achieve (or be, do or have) next year. All you need to do is to take a clean sheet (or two) of paper and write these down.

Now some of these items may be high level achievements – like write a book or a specific financial goal – and others may be smaller steps to help you to achieve these bigger ambitions.  Now when you do this exercise, give yourself the space to be expansive, creative and dream, and please don’t edit your ideas as you go!

These can, of course, be a combination of personal and business goals, because they do both feed each other.  There may be places you want to go, experiences you’d like to have, or other things that achieving your business goals will allow you to do.

What’s on your 100 things list?

I’ll leave you to get on with the list and I’d love to know the most important three things that you discover you want next year.  Tell me by leaving your comments on this blog.  Then I’ll be back with part 2 next week!

    Hi Karen,
This is a great piece. I have been struggling with what I want for long time and have also been working out strategies for my business but seems lack of resources is limiting my ability to take action.

I am learning from your write-up.

    Thanks.
