The 100 things game – part 2

How did you get on with the exercise I suggested last week – the 100 things game? Go on…. Leave your top 3 on my post here.

The 100 things game is simply about writing down 100 things that you’d like to be, do, have, or achieve next year and here is part 2 of the challenge.

Whilst it is important to know what you want, the next step is to be totally clear on why you want it and what it will give you.  When you know this, it will make it easier to achieve, and you may find that you strike a few things off the list because deep down you realise they aren’t actually important.

Knowing the why behind anything will motivate you to achieve it if it’s the right thing to do. Actually to a certain extent, the why is more powerful than the how, as when you are totally committed to doing something, it will happen and nothing will get in your way.

For example, if you want to make a particular income in your business next year, what will this allow you to do that you can’t do right now?

If you want to write a book, what will it give you and your clients (and make it worth starting – and finishing)?

To use this latter example, I believe that getting clear on your why is the first essential component to writing a book.  It’s a pretty big task and if you’re going to spend hours doing your research, rising early to write, or getting into the minutia of doing the final edits (like I’ve been doing this week), then it’s something you need to nail! But when you focus on the outcome that it will give you and your clients, the difference it can make to your business, and how it can open particular doors, then the possibilities are endless.

So now it’s your turn.  What’s on your 100 list and why is each item important?

Then you can get on and make these things happen!
