F is for Faffing

Have you joined us on the 30 day challenge yet? If not, pop over here to the private Facebook group.

If you have and you’re reading the discussions, you’ll discover that F is for Faffing.  I don’t know about you, but I can be pretty good at this, and this is the very first thing that you need to do well if you are ready for FAILURE.  And actually this is the very first step in my 7 step system to FAILURE which I’m revealing at the ‘What to do when everyone else is selling the same as you’ event on 27th November.

It is a whole different world when you are working for yourself.  With no one looking over your shoulder checking that you are doing the right thing.  It’s easy to do the thing you’d like to do rather than the one you should be doing, isn’t it? Especially if it’s the thing that scares you!

It’s also very easy to put things off and say that you’ll do them one day.  Or the worst is when you tell yourself ‘I’ll do it when…’ Just like, ‘When my website is ready, I’ll tell people about my business’, or ‘I’ll do some speaking when I’ve lost a couple of stone’. Or you decide to start to get things moving in your business in 2014, when you could really use the next 2 months to put the ground work in place and be ready for an abundant New Year.

It’s also easy to be really busy in your business but not getting results, which is probably because you’re doing the wrong things. If you want more clients, you need to talk to more people rather than sit behind your computer.

It may be that you have loads of ideas but not be putting anything into action.  It might feel quite bitty with lots of things to do, and then you can’t work out how to prioritise anything because they all feel important.  Then it can lead to overwhelm, and when you feel in overwhelm, nothing gets done.  But you might start faffing 🙂

In my first tip in the 30 day challenge, I shared this:

Day 1 Biz Tip: If you’ve got loads of ideas flitting around your head, shut yourself away for half an hour, take a big piece of paper and write them down. It will clear your head for other things and once they are written you can start to prioritise what you need to do first. The 80/20 rule might help you in this situation – what are the things that are going to give you the best results? What are you going to do first? What needs to happen for you to complete this action?

Go on, pop over and join us.

I wrote a newsletter on the 80/20 rule only last week.

But, as usual begin the queen of procrastination, with several stone to lose…. I have yet to post it on my website.

What has to happen for you to post it on your website Zoe? Looking forward to seeing it!
