What happens if you're never ready?

After my book launch a couple of weeks ago, I breathed a sigh of relief. As much as I had the time of my life, it had been a manic rush to be ready for the event.  But this relief was short lived, as the next day I was at a mastermind day with my mentors, and I had another project to implement! And earlier this week I announced the details of my next event.

But I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I love helping people with their business and their books and I know that I’ve so much knowledge in this area. Yet there were times on that Friday when I wondered if I was prepared to announce another event so quickly, but you could also ask when would I ever be ready?

And I know that my clients often feel the same way. At times it can feel like a catch 22 situation.

Let me give you some examples.

You might wonder how you’re going to fit writing a book into your life – but also how would you feel if you never made the time to do it?

When is your book perfect and when does it need more editing or tweaking?

Is it worth staying up half the night to nail that Kindle launch or should you scrap the idea?

At my book launch party, I relayed something that one of my mentors said to me many years ago and stuck with me. That is that imperfect action is better than no action at all, or, as my video guy calls it, ‘sloppy success’.

Sometimes you have to go with something that you’re developing at the same time as running it, but that gives you the chance to give your audience exactly what they want.

You might publish your book and then realise that you have additional material – and that’s great as you can turn this knowledge into a programme (or the next book!)

If you wait until you’re totally and 100% ready, do you think that you’ll ever start to write or finish your book? Or actually do anything in your business?

What will it take you to trust that everything will be OK even if it feels like all the parts are not yet in place?

I know from experience that often taking the leap and jumping is the right way to go, otherwise you’ll never be doing what you want to do – and you know the mantra, if you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.  So if you’re putting up barriers or making excuses, this is the time to acknowledge these and go for it anyway.

But also it doesn’t have to be difficult. Get support to make that leap and learn some of the shortcuts to make it easier for you. Click the contact us link below to find out how.
