You've got to start somewhere

A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I had the pleasure of staying with Jennifer Sarduy and her partner Floreal in Zaragoza, North East Spain. Jennifer is one of my clients and she started working with me earlier this year to help her to develop her retreat, where she plans to specialise in retirement coaching.

What better way of knowing how to help with the business and marketing, than to experience some of what they have to offer!

Already a successful business owner, Jennifer runs the Real English Academy and has two successful published books to her name. After buying a derelict house about 50km outside of Zaragoza, they’ve been doing it up ever since to pursue this new dream.

Jennifer admitted to me when we arrived that the retreat is work in progress. Just before we got there, they were fitting doors on kitchen cupboards and replastering the ceiling. But they are creating a beautiful eco-house with a water tank providing water on demand pumped from their well, solar panels on the roof supplying electricity, and a small wind turbine on the roof supplying power to the small but perfectly formed establishment. Oh and there’s even a splash pool in the garden for the warm summer evenings (and it was a scorcher!).

The retreat itself is totally off the grid. We were warned about this before we arrived! Miles from the nearest town, off a dirt track, nestled among acres of olive groves. What this gives you however, is that sense of peace and tranquility – well at least when their menagerie of animals aren’t letting you know about their presence! By the end of the week, we hoped to have taught the parrot a few new words!

With plenty of inspiring outside space, what they have begun to create is a place to change people’s lives. With Floreal’s magic fingers providing relaxing and recharging massages, and combined with Jennifer’s intuitive coaching, they are a brilliant team.

Our trip also included inspired business brainstorming, local tours around the area, tapas and a little beer and vino! But hey isn’t that part of the experience?

Yes the retreat is work in progress, but you’ve got to start somewhere even if you never feel ready. It’s just like the 40+ people who have just started the 10,000 Word Summer Book Challenge and have begun to write their books. When will you ever be ready if you never actually start?

What do you want to start?

What specifically do you want to start this coming year?

What dreams do you have in your life and business that you want to have happen?

What have you already started that you’re really proud of?

I’d love you to share your comments and thoughts below.
