Author Spotlight interview with Lorraine Senior

In our latest Author's Journey Spotlight, Sheryl Andrews interviews Lorraine Senior, a former teacher who has combined her many skills from her education background into her current role as a reflexologist and tutor.
Lorraine’s new book, Reflexology for Schools encourages reflexologists to extend their expertise into the school setting, and is essential reading for headteachers seeking innovative approaches to support the wellbeing of young minds within their schools.
Drawing on the stories of many of the young people she has supported over the years, her book delves into how reflexology can support a range of diverse needs. It promotes emotional wellbeing through the power of touch, which encourages a better frame of mind for learning.

Here are some of the highlights from the interview with Lorraine Senior.
- Lorraine spent two years focusing on the wrong things before she came across Karen Williams and the Smart Author System. By embarking on book mentorship, she started with the end in mind and got clear on her vision, purpose and audience for the book.
- Although structure wasn’t easy, she found it easier when she was able to talk through her ideas. By working with a book mentor and other authors through the Smart Author - Fast Track programme, she had the support she needed to write and publish her book.
- When you are working alongside other people, Lorraine says that you have the space to express your fears, you feel less alone, and you get the support you need to keep going. And a book mentor will ask you the questions that you may not ask yourself.
- By taking her community on the journey, Lorraine had a successful launch. She held one at her school with the young people featured in the book, and an online launch with 90+ attendees from across the globe who helped celebrate her success.
