7 simple pre-launch book marketing strategies
In their hurry to get their book written, many new authors fail to market their book until it’s finished.
The impact of this is that they struggle to get sales, fail to build momentum, and don’t create a buzz with their book.
The more http://healthsavy.com/product/xenical/ people who know that your book exists – even before you finish it (yeah I know it feels a bit scary!) – the more people who will be there to support you when you finally get it done.
So that you don’t fall into that trap, I want to give you 7 simple pre-launch book marketing strategies that you can use even before you’ve finished writing your book.
1. Buy the website address for your book
Once you’ve decided the title for your book, buy the web address so that you can use it to start promoting your book. This also gives you the perfect opportunity to tell people about it and share relevant launch information.
2. Allow people to pre-order your book
Create a simple squeeze page to promote your book before you finish it, allowing people to pre-order your book in advance of its release. You may also choose to offer bonuses as a thank you for advance purchases.
3. Look for PR opportunities
Don’t wait for your book to be published before you seek out PR opportunities to share your story. They’ll benefit both you and your business whilst you’re creating your masterpiece! And if you have a webpage for your book, then you can direct readers to this so that they can find out more and order a copy of your book in advance of its release.
4. Do your market research
Although market research for your book will help you to find out what your readers want you to say, it also can help you to get in front of more people who want your book (and potentially your products or services) in a non salesly way. This may be in the form of interviews, surveys, questionnaires or focus groups.
5. Tell people you’re writing your book
I advise all of my clients to tell people that they are writing their book from the day they start it. It’s a great way to boost your credibility and stand out from your competitors. You can do this verbally or simply add ‘Author of the upcoming book ….’ on your website, biography, social media pages and auto-signature.
6. Talk about your message online
When you put the right processes in place to write your book, i.e. it is totally aligned to your business, then talk about this message online. You can share snippets of your book on your blog to get feedback and post tips on social media to showcase your knowledge.
7. Build your community
Please don’t wait until your book is published to build your community! You can do this now by creating a lead magnet on your website that leads into your book. You can also put your sales funnel in place, which will allow you to seamlessly promote your services authentically in your book.
