How to create new opportunities by writing a book
Tonight is the second webinar in the 10,000 Word Summer Book Challenge. Just by stepping up and saying they are writing their book, many of my writers are already creating new opportunities!
Actually, I could give you lots of examples of how my clients have created new opportunities – many before they’ve actually finished (and published) their books.
The act of stepping up creates new opportunities
- It helps you to realise how much you know, which builds your confidence.
- When you start to tell people about your book, they become interested in what you have to say.
- Your book will put you in a different league to your competitors, right from the moment you start to write it.
Let me give you a client example.
I’d like to introduce you to Louise Evans. Louise sought my mentoring support last year to write her book. She is currently in the final editing stages, and is planning to publish and launch it in October.
Louise is already very successful. She lives in Florence and works with organisations all around Italy teaching her unique 5-step system to corporate leaders in global organisations. This unique system is the basis of her book, her training, and the work she does with her clients.
By writing her book, she has developed her knowledge through further research, working with ativan more clients, developing real life case studies for the book, and putting her expertise down on paper.
Telling people she’s writing her book has led to some amazing work opportunities. She’s also been approached to speak at a TEDX talk in Genoa in November. And in a recent training session the HR Director asked to pre-order 90 copies of her new book for their managers.
That’s pretty good considering she hasn’t yet finished and published it!
I can give you many other real life examples. Like one of my clients who was approached to run workshops all around the UK, another who got a new client on holiday because she was clear on her message and is confident talking about what she does, and others who have attracted brilliant PR and new clients!
10 reasons why your business needs a book – video 3
In last week’s video I mentioned that writing your book will help you to get clear on your message. And when you’re clear on your message, you’ll attract new opportunities. So here is video number 3 in my video series “The 10 reasons why your business needs a book”. Please like and share! You can also subscribe to my YouTube channel to get advance notice of when the videos are released and to watch the others.
