Your reverse bucket list
What is a reverse bucket list?
On the eve of my 40th birthday earlier this year, I wrote my reverse bucket list. I’d never heard of this term before my friend introduced me to the topic. Your reverse bucket list is simply a list of everything that you’ve achieved already rather than the things you want to do, be or have. So over the Christmas break, I wrote mine for 2014.
Up until that time, I’d wondered what I’d achieved this year! December seemed to come around in a flash and it wasn’t until I reflected on my personal and business achievements that I realised that I had a long list.
To be honest some of these weren’t actually achievements, but experiences and moments. Like my birthday celebrations where I enjoyed a plethora of activities. And holidays where I had time out, recharged my batteries and spent time with my husband and with friends.
On a business note, there were some big achievements, like running my first writing retreat in Spain, finishing my third book, and running another conference in July.
Here is my reverse bucket list with some of the highlights:
I went skiing with friends in March and had a lovely last minute trip to Malta in December with my husband.
My 40th birthday celebrations lasted a while with a family meal in May, a spa day with two special people, and posh afternoon tea with friends in July.
I went to The House of Lords in May to meet Professor Lord Winston, celebrating the charity trek along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu that I completed in 2013.
In July, I ran the 3rd successful Star Biz conference.
I managed to complete the North Downs Way in August despite spraining my ankle on route!
I ran my first writing retreat in South West Spain in September – and will be doing it all over again in 2015.
I was chuffed at my double page spread in The Daily Express in the summer and also being the cover girl in this month’s Biz Rocks magazine.
This year I have worked with amazing clients and collaborators, and have some exciting plans for 2015 too!
Oh and I wrote my third book, out in January 🙂 and have another one (perhaps two) coming out later in 2015.
What’s on your reverse bucket list for 2014?

I’ve never heard of a reverse bucket list until now what a fab idea Karen! I will grab a festive drink before the year is out and actually put pen to paper and I’ll report back later 😉
Looking forward to it Emma!
