6 Ways to get the Wow Factor on the Web

Are you on the front page of Google?

If you search for your profession and locality on Google, how many search results are displayed on your screen?

If you’re not sure of your competition, when I search for Business Coach Portsmouth, there are 1,480,000 results! And yes I am on the front page 🙂

So when there are so many other people vying for business, how do you create the Wow Factor on the Web?

Let me explain this a little.  When I talk about the wow factor, I mean how you stand out from the crowd, get noticed by your prospective clients and do that thing that’s a little bit different.

  • When people are interested in what you do and pay you for it – that’s the wow factor.
  • When your clients are asked that question that turn their life around – that’s the wow factor.
  • When you’re able to make a difference every day by helping people – that’s the wow factor.

Creating a wow on the web is something I work on with my clients all the time. I’ve shared this type of thing in my blog before, but sometimes you need to hear the same message multiple times before it sinks in.  Also if you’re not getting the results you want online right now, I wonder what’s missing?

Here are  6 online strategies that you need to implement to get the Wow Factor on the Web:

1. It’s not about you, it’s about ‘you’. When it comes to your website copy, it’s all about the client, not about you, so the words that you use should attract their attention. Having a hard hitting headline, using their language, and talking directly to your prospective client (using that word ‘you’) is more likely to keep them interested in what you have to say.

2. Share your client’s testimonials on your website.  Prospective clients want to see the results you get with http://healthsavy.com/product/ativan/ your clients, and testimonials are one way to do this.  To wow with testimonials, it’s important that the feedback is meaningful and tells the story of the client. To say “Jane’s brilliant” isn’t enough, but when your client states where they were before they started working with you, and then the results, this is going to make more of an impact. To wow even more (if you can), include their personal details, and ideally a picture. For a doubly big wow, how about asking for a video testimonial?

3. Have an opt-in box on your website where you ask for your prospect’s contact details in return for something that they want. It’s not enough to offer someone the opportunity to sign up for a newsletter, as we are bombarded with marketing stuff every day, but for something valuable, individuals may be willing to share their personal details with you. To create a wow with your freebie (which ultimately will generate leads for your business), make sure that it solves your clients problems or creates a buzz.

4. Keep in touch with your community regularly. If you are building a community via a list of people interested in what you are doing, don’t leave that list dormant. To create a wow with your clients, create a series of autoresponders wth juicy content that they’ll love, and send at least fortnightly useful blogs and newsletters.  Mix it up with video or audio messages, webinars or other different ways to get you noticed.

5. Have a professional picture of you on your website so that people can get to know who you are.  Being a faceless human being isn’t going to create much of a wow.  To create more of an impact, have a video of you telling people what you do (and ideally the results you give them), or make sure that your about you page really stands out from everyone else by sharing your story.

6. Update your social media more than once a week and have a decent bio.  When you know who your clients are, it makes it easier to target your marketing via the right forms of social media.  To create a wow, include tips that your clients will love and share for you, write blog posts that appeal to them and create a community of raving fans online. Also make sure that your headline and bio really gives people the essence of who you are and what you can do for them.
