Author Spotlight interview with Yvonne Guérineau
A personal development enthusiast, psychology graduate and experienced HR professional, Yvonne Guérineau is an expert in helping people to build positive working relationships.
After working with organisations and individuals for many years, she wanted to create something that was real, lasting and physical. So she wrote her first book, People in their Element.
When she first engaged me to support her, she wanted to uncover everything she knew and we explored how it would all hang together. She wanted to give people access to her process from beginning to end, and go deep into the strategies. She knew that it would help those who already work with her, and additionally it would support the manager who doesn’t have a budget to hire her and enable individuals to get access to this life-changing information.
Writing her book helped Yvonne to clarify her message, create her new branding, and it gave her the confidence to reframe the direction she wanted to take her business.
Sheryl Andrews recently interviewed Yvonne to find out about her author’s journey. You can watch the interview below or click to listen to the audio. And you can order Yvonne’s book here.
Here are some of the insights from Yvonne Guérineau’s interview:
- The book writing process helps you clarify your message and brand.
- Her community hugely supported her during the process of writing it.
- It’s easy to be held back by thoughts of “when will it be good enough”, but a big shift happened when she heard the phrase “I have strong opinions loosely held”, which made her realise that her book is a snapshot in time and her thoughts may evolve in the future.
- The importance of having support when reliving painful memories, and how writing your story can be a therapeutic process and it can help you to change the story you tell yourself when you see your story through your reader’s eyes.
- A book provides something tangible for service based business owners and it’s great to get your first bit of reader feedback after launch – and realise how it is already transforming peoples’ lives.
- That she didn’t realise that book mentoring was a thing until she found me, and how it helped to nudge her along the process.
