What makes an author an expert?
I want to share an observation with you about what makes an author an expert.
When I picked up a recent edition of Psychologies Magazine, almost 100% of contributors had a book to their name. Isn’t that interesting?
Let’s take a specific example. I’ve been following Jason Vale, The Juice Master for a couple of years and I did a 7 day juice fast last year. He has turned the relatively easy concept of turning fruit and veg into a tasty but nutritious drink into a very successful business.
Yes he’s written many books, but it’s more than that. What he writes about demonstrates his knowledge and expertise and his own health story has impacted on his success.
That’s why you might pay more interest to him. Those books have resulted in TV appearances, various apps that support the book, sold-out retreats and becoming a celebrity in the health world.
Its worth noting that his most recent video, he stated that over 20,000 people in 124 countries are taking part in his summer juice challenge this year, most of whom will have downloaded his £4.99 app, which ALL LINKS BACK to sections in his BOOK.
Interesting, hey?
Isn’t it interesting how through having experience and knowledge of a particular thing can lead to the realisation that you have something important to share?
Isn’t it interesting how it is relatively easy to turn this expert knowledge into a published book?
Isn’t it interesting how writing and publishing a book can make you seem more credible and raise your profile?
Isn’t it interesting how raising your profile can lead to all sorts of other opportunities?
Isn’t it interesting how these opportunities can help you to reach more people and make more money in your business?
What would writing a book do for you?
I’d love to know what you think about this and you can leave your comments on my blog below.
