What happens when there's no plan B?
I love meeting people who are serious about their business. They have big dreams and exciting visions, and ultimately there is no plan B.
- They don’t think seriously about going back to a day job.
- They don’t rely on other streams of income to keep them afloat.
- If they need to make more money, they’ll take action to get it.
- They’re in it for the long haul and they’re willing to give their business everything they’ve got.
I’ve celebrated my 9th wedding anniversary, and recognised – like many things in life – that to do something well is a marathon not a sprint. You don’t have to do everything today, but having a plan to make things happen is essential. And being accountable and getting support is the key to success.
You may be thinking that 9 years isn’t long, but if I tell you that my hubbie and I have been together for 22 years, you may see the bigger picture! Yes I know – I don’t look old enough, do I? 😉
When there’s no plan B, you have to make plan A happen don’t you?
- You have to take steps to become visible or otherwise no one will know that you exist.
- You realise that you can’t rely on one-to-one income and need products, books or high level programmes to support your business development.
- You have to nail your message and work out what makes you different from everyone else, or you’ll blend into the crowd.
It also doesn’t take long before you realise that you can’t do everything yourself if you want to make your big plans happen. That’s why last week I packed my suitcase to spend 2 days with my mentors. And that’s why I used a local host (and client) to plan my recent writing retreat in Spain. That’s why many of my clients ask to work with me.
I also know that if you need to move your business forward quickly and get rapid results, you need to stop doing the stuff that you don’t do well. It may be cheaper and easier in the short term, but in the long run, will it help you to get what you want now?
Let me give you an example. When I wrote my first book, I spent months looking for a publisher. Yet in the ‘Your Book is the Hook‘ programme, I recently shared all of my secrets in a 60 minute call for the participants. This will make it easy for them to decide the next step – and I’ve done all of the hard work for them!
If there is no plan B in your business, what’s it going to take to make plan A happen? I’d love to know your thoughts on this question and also how I can help you.
How can you make plan A happen?
We’re in the last quarter of 2014, and if you don’t want to be in the same place as you are now on New Year’s Day, what’s the next step you need to take?
I’d love to have a chat with you to find out how I can help you. This is for you if you are serious about your business and are ready to give it all you’ve got and perhaps you’d love to write a book to set you apart from the competition.
